Stainless steel style

We've cracked it. The holy grail of classic car hire is here - at Great Escape Classic Car Hire we now have a DeLorean DMC-12 available for self drive hire. No need for a chaperone or chauffeur - this is the only DeLorean that you can drive.
We have been looking for a DeLorean DMC-12 to add to our classic car hire fleet for several years. But limited supply and rising prices have meant we've had to delay the addition until now.
The DeLorean is one of the best known cars in the world. Made famous by the Back to the Future films, the DeLorean is also infamous for its back story of bankruptcy, double dealing and drug smuggling. Today the remarkable gullwing car with stainless steel bodywork can be hired from our Cotswolds site by the day, weekend or week. It is also available for self drive wedding car hire.
"The DeLorean attracts attention like an alien space craft landing on the street," explains Graham Eason of Great Escape. "This is a car that is not quite like anything else. Our customers have been asking us to add a DeLorean for some time - at last we have found a car that we're happy to add to the fleet."
For more details on the DeLorean for hire call 01527 893733 or visit http://www.greatescapecars.co.uk/. Book a date or buy a DeLorean gift voucher before Christmas and save 10%.

New online booking system

Great Escape Classic Car Hire has launched a new online booking system that makes buying classic car hire on the internet quicker, faster and easier. It can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from anywhere in the world.

The new facility replaces Great Escape's previous in-house booking system and has been developed by the UK's leading car hire software provider. It enables customers to search cars by type, location, price and availability and provides full specification details for each model. Bookings can be completed online in a few minutes, enabling customers to confirm the car and dates and avoid disappointment.

Great Escape Classic Car Hire has invested in the new system to improve the customer experience. Online bookings, particularly from overseas, have taken an increasing share of the company's overall sales so the investment in the new technology should help the company to grow further in 2012.

"We have the largest choice of classic cars to hire in the UK," explains Graham Eason of Great Escape. "So we need a simple online system that enables customers to select the right car and dates to suit them, quickly and easily.

"The new online booking system covers all of our sites and our entire fleet of 50 classic and performance hire cars."

The new online booking system has been launched in time for Great Escape to capitalise on the Christmas gift market.

A Merry Moggy Christmas

Great Escape Classic Car Hire got into the Christmas spirit in May when it provided one of its classic cars for a Yuletide-themed photoshoot in London.
The classic car rental company provided its beautiful red Morris Minor convertible for the big-budget photoshoot. The advertising agency wanted a red convertible car with a tan roof and Great Escape's 1971 Morris Minor convertible is the only car for hire in the UK which offers this colour combination.
Great Escape Classic Car Hire delivered the car to Hampton Hill at short notice for the all day shoot. The car was used for a romantic 'singing in the rain' scene and a shot involving a Christmas tree being delivered using the car.
"The crew were very pleased with the condition of the car," explains Graham Eason of Great Escape Classic Car Hire. "We arrived on set at 6.45am and provided a full day of support with the car. The car was washed and polished on arrival to ensure it was in perfect condition for the shoot."
Great Escape Classic Car Hire is the UK's largest classic car rental company and provides cars on a weekly basis for photoshoots and film shoots.

48 hours with 24 cylinders

They just don't make engines like the classic Jaguar 5.3 litre V12 any more. It's an engine so smooth that you can safely balance a £1 coin on it while it is running. After you've driven a V12, everything else just seems unrefined.

Great Escape Classic Car Hire in Worcestershire has launched a special weekend driving experience that lets you sample two applications of this iconic engine. Called the V12 Dilemma, the package lets you put this 285 bhp engine to the test in two of its most iconic settings - the Jaguar E Type convertible and the Jaguar XJS convertible. These cars represent two very different approaches to grand touring from two different eras, but sharing the same engine. Spend 24 hours touring the Cotswolds in each car and then tell us which you think is best. The package includes use of both cars and accommodation in a luxury B&B.

You can choose to start your experience in either car. Then spend 24 hours driving the first car before we deliver the second car to your local accommodation. Tour the Cotswolds in that car - using our recommended routes if you want - and then return to our storage site 24 hours later.

In addition to our normal hire package the V12 Dilemma experience includes free extras worth £100, including delivery and collection of one car to your local accommodation and a gourmet picnic lunch for two.

With the V12 Dilemma you can choose to head north, south, east of west from the Great Escape storage site and travel as far or as little as you like. We'll discuss your preferences and create a bespoke package to suit you.

1973 Jaguar E Type Roadster

Regularly voted the most beautiful car ever made, the E Type is the archetypical classic car. When Jaguar dropped its ultra-smooth V121 5.3 litre engine into the Series 3 EType it created a brilliant grand tourer that is effortlessly powerful. Over 30 years after it went out of production the E Type is a car that bears the weight of expectations ably on its curvaceous shoulders. The Great Escape E Type is a late Series 3 with Old English White paintwork, black leather interior, four speed manual gearbox and power steering.

1988 Jaguar XJS Convertible

When Jaguar replaced the beautifil EType with the lithe XJS in 1975 buyers were surprised. But the XJS went on to outsell the E Type and remain in production for longer. Today coupe and convertible XJS' are sought-after classics recognised for their style and presence. Jaguar finally chopped the roof off the XJS in 1988 and created the elegant convertible, generally acknowledge as the most attractive variant. The Great Escape Jaguar XJS is an early 1988 pre-facelift V112 convertible with light blue metalllic paintwork and blue leather interior with walnut dashboard. It is fitted with every available optional extra including heated seats, cruise control, powwer roof, air conditioning and a trip computer. It benefits from a TWR rear seat conversion to create a 'compact' four seater.

New Classic Jaguar Car Hire Specialist

Jaguars are one of the most popular classic cars for hire in the UK. Most classic car hire fleets are quite small so until now enthusiasts have had to pick and choose Jaguar cars, locations and websites in order to sample different classic Jag models. Great Escape Classic Car Hire has solved the problem by creating a specialist division to hire its large fleet of classic Jaguars.

The new division, Classic Jaguars, brings together the largest fleet of Jaguar classic cars in the UK. The cars can be viewed online at http://www.hireclassicjaguars.co.uk/.

Classic Jaguars from Great Escape has examples of virtually every classic Jaguar from the 1960s to 1990s available to hire from its sites in Suffolk, Worcestershire and Dorset. This is the widest range of classic Jaguar cars available for self drive hire in the UK. The new division enables visitors to browse the entire range in one place and hire any car from any of Great Escape's UK locations.

Classic Jaguars cars are available to hire at http://www.hireclassicjaguars.co.uk/ or by calling 01527 893733. They include the Jaguar Mk2, E Type convertibles and coupes with 4.2 and V12 engines, XJ6 saloon and coupe, XKR, XJR, and XJ-S convertible. Some of these cars are the only ones of their type available to hire in the UK. Prices start at £155 for 24 hours and include unlimited mileage, insurance and breakdown cover.

The new website includes descriptions and pictures of the cars and links to the Great Escape online availability check and booking system. Great Escape has also developed several unique Jaguar-themed classic car driving experiences that enable customers to sample several classic Jaguar cars in one day. These include the jaguar V12 Dilemma that compares the V12 Jaguar XJ-S with the V12 Jaguar E Type coupe.
